What we collect, and when

We only collect personal data that you give us:

• Enquiry form. Your name, company name, email address, telephone number, the products or services you tick, and whatever you write in the message box.
• Email and telephone. If you contact us directly, whatever you include in that correspondence.

We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this website, so we do not build a profile of your browsing, and we do not track you across other sites. Our web host keeps standard server logs - including IP addresses - as a normal part of running and securing a website.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use what you send us to answer your enquiry, prepare a design or a budget price, arrange a presentation, and keep a record of the correspondence. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to someone who has asked us a business question about our products. Where an enquiry becomes a project, our basis is performance of a contract.

We will not use your details to send you marketing you have not asked for, and we will not sell or rent them to anyone.

Who else sees it

Enquiries submitted through the form are processed by our web host and passed to the mailbox and workflow tools we use to manage enquiries. Those providers act as data processors on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. We may also share details with a professional adviser or with a regulator where we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to two years and then deleted. Where an enquiry becomes a project, we keep the records for as long as we need them for the contract, and afterwards for the periods required for tax, insurance and any warranty or guarantee on the installation.

Where it is held

Your data is held in the UK and the European Economic Area. Where a provider transfers data outside those areas, it is done under the safeguards permitted by UK data protection law.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email sales@cipltd.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
